Facebook Instant Articles and its Features

Facebook is worldwide famous social media today. There are various marketing strategies that Facebook is working on. Similarly, Facebook Instant Article is one of them. Facebook announced that it is opening Facebook instant articles for all publishers worldwide by the end of 2016. And, all website owners across the globe will get benefit by this.

Facebook launched Instant Articles actually in May with less than a dozen publishers. It is a feature of Facebook for use with collaborating news and content publishers that the publisher can choose to use for articles they select.

In other words, instant Articles are fast-loading versions of web stories that have been optimized for mobile. For example, when users click on an Instant Article, instead of going to another site user will stay on Facebook to view the content.

According to Facebook, Instant Articles are a new way for publishers to create fast, interactive articles on Facebook. It will load 10 times faster than standard mobile websites.

As compare to regular post, it will give benefits as following:

  • 45- 50 percent increase in reach.
  • 30- 35 percent increase in shares.
  • 83- 89 percent increase in likes.
  • 60% increment in link clicks.

Facebook stated that “Instant Articles receive 20 percent more clicks and 30 percent more shares than other links. Additionally, people are 70 percent less likely to abandon an article, because they’re not stuck waiting for it to load.”

It preserves the look and feel of articles from the publisher’s website when showing them as Instant Articles.

Load time:

As I mentioned above, Instant Articles load ten times as fast as mobile web content. Thus, it creates a better user experience.


Publishers can keep 100% of the revenue if they sell the ads in Instant articles. Although it raises 30% more chances of getting clicks on ads.


You can customize your Instant Articles style template to reflect the look and feel of your brand.

For setting up Facebook Instant Articles, you will need:

  1. A website/blog: Instant Articles require a web URL to make them work.
  2. To connect your site to Instant Articles, you’ll need to verify that you own it.
  3. During setup, you need to upload a high resolution graphic file.
  4. A Facebook page: The tools you use to set up and manage Instant Articles can be found on your Facebook Page.
